Hello and welcome to our first Coates newsletter for 2025.
I hope you have all had a wonderful festive season and New Year, and I would like to thank each and every one of you for your incredible support in 2024. Whether you joined us on an unforgettable tour across Australia’s unique outback, ventured to far-off corners of the globe in search of exotic wildlife, or simply enjoyed keeping up with Coates and our tours, your passion for exploring the natural world is inspiring, and it was a privilege to guide you through some of the most breathtaking habitats on Earth last year.
Sylvia and I have been fortunate to own and operate Coates Wildlife Tours for nearly 30 years. Our work has always been a source of pride and fulfilment, and we remain dedicated to providing enriching wildlife tours for years to come. However, as new opportunities and priorities arise in both our personal and professional lives, we’ve decided it’s time to focus more on family and less on the day-to-day demands of the office.
To that end, we’ve made the decision to step back from running camping tours within Australia that require our 4WD vehicles, bus, and cars. This change will take effect in early September 2025, following the conclusion of our Karlamilyi (Rudall River) National Park Expedition. After this, we will continue to offer a range of exciting interstate, overseas, and international tours, including Christmas and Cocos Islands, along with new adventures to the Northern Territory, Queensland, and an expanded selection of international destinations. If you have a wildlife destination on your bucket list, we’d love to hear from you—your input could inspire future tours!
Sylvia and I look forward to this change, and we are very grateful for your understanding and support as we embrace this next chapter for Coates.
