Dear Travellers,
Our 2025 Tour Schedule is almost ready! I am currently finalising the last few tour dates, and look forward to sharing the full schedule with you soon. In the meantime, I’m pleased to announce that our New Zealand South Island Wildlife & Wilderness Expedition is now open for bookings.
Join us on an extraordinary journey through some of New Zealand’s most breathtaking natural landscapes from 7 to 21 January, 2025. This exclusive accommodated tour is designed for nature enthusiasts, and offers an intimate experience with a maximum of 12 participants. You will also be guided by a local NZ Naturalist, who will provide in-depth knowledge and possess expert identification skills, allowing you to thoroughly pursue your wildlife passions.
Beginning in Nelson, our group will explore the striking Mount Arthur in Kahurangi National Park, known for its unique marble formations and diverse upland and sub-alpine species. From there, we’ll head to Cape Farewell to witness the dramatic coastline and learn about the seabird restoration project. We will delight in walks around the beautiful alpine lakes Rotoiti and Rotoroa, and enjoy the Kaikoura Peninsula Walkway, perfect for observing seals, seabirds, and breathtaking clifftop views. The adventure continues with a thrilling whale-watching cruise off the Kaikoura coast, offering us the chance for close encounters with Sperm Whales, albatrosses, petrels, and shearwaters.
We will hike the dramatic Mueller Ridge for spectacular views of the Southern Alps, including Aoraki/Mt Cook and Mt Sefton. You may also choose to take an optional flight over Mount Cook National Park. In the Fiordland World Heritage Area, walk amidst lush beech forests and sub-alpine tussock lands, discovering botanical treasures in the Darran Mountains and Milford Sound. Experience the wilderness of Rakiura Stewart Island, home to Kakas and South Island Brown Kiwi, and visit predator-free Ulva Island. Finally, explore Taiaroa Head, known for the only mainland-nesting colony of albatross in the world, before the tour concludes in Dunedin. Secure your place on this incredible adventure today!
