11 Day Cruise
Ushuaia - Ushuaia
Join us as we undertake an inspirational journey to the southern continent that is almost twice the size of Australia. This trip plans to cross Drake Passage and cruise towards the South Shetland Islands, where favourable weather conditions willl allow us to set ashore to explore. Then onto the Antarctic Peninsular where the trips experienced crew will use the boats manoeverability plus their skills and knowledege to ensure the peninsulars highlights open up before our eyes.

Our ship is the Polar Pioneer she is an ice strengthened research ship
that was refurbished to provide a maximum of 56 passengers with simple
yet comfortable accommodation.
There is a combined bar / lounge area, a dedicated lecture / library area (stocked with a good collection of polar books and videos).
The Russian crew provide not just a warm welcome on board but are among the worlds most experienced ice navigators. The chefs are Australian or New Zealanders and the meals are wholesome and uncomplicated.
The ships expert polar naturalists will entertain and inform us with illustrated talks. They also help with wildlife identification and prepare us for the shore landings ahead.
A small fleet of inflatable Zodiacs with outboard motors are used to travel between the vessel and shore. The size of the Polar Pioneer allows us to access places that many of the larger ships can not get to.
